Monmouth Battlefield 1st Sunday Walks

History’s not dead - it’s just waiting for you to walk through it. Every first Sunday of the month, the Friends of Monmouth Battlefield lead guided walks through the very ground where the Battle of Monmouth raged back in 1778. These aren’t your average park strolls - they’re layered with stories, strategy, and survival. You’ll move through the fields where Molly Pitcher made her mark and where the fight for independence hit boiling point in the Jersey heat. Led by the same community that fought to save this place from disappearing under weeds and neglect, these walks are living proof that the past still matters. You’ll see restored views, hear untold stories, and get a whole new perspective on New Jersey’s role in the revolution. 👣 Walks guided by local historians & battlefield preservationists 📚 Learn about the Monmouth Campaign, colonial life, & the fight to keep this land alive 🌳 Experience the landscapes through the lens of 1778 No costumes, no reenactment today - just footsteps in sacred dirt and stories that hit harder than you expect.
