This is a free household hazardous waste recycling day in Cedar Grove at the Essex County Public Works Facility. You can safely get rid of things like oil-based paints, automotive fluids, propane tanks, pool chemicals, fluorescent bulbs, mercury products, gasoline, cleaning fluids, and car batteries. Just remember, you need to show proof that you live in Essex County and stay in your vehicle during drop-off.

• 🏠 Essex County hazardous waste disposal: Only residents of Essex County can participate with proof of residency.
• 🚗 Drive-through drop-off: Participants must remain in their vehicles while disposing of waste.
• 🛢️ Accepted items: Includes oil-based paints, automotive fluids, propane tanks, pool chemicals, fluorescent bulbs, mercury-containing products, gasoline, household cleaning fluids, and car batteries.
• ❌ Not accepted: Latex paint, unlabeled materials, asbestos, medical waste, explosives, household batteries, smoke detectors, and commercial or industrial waste won’t be accepted.
