Explore the art of junk journaling, blackout poetry, and Dadaist poetry and learn how to combine the three to create meaningful, handmade books that are not only works of art, but also functional for everyday use. No experience is necessary and there is no right or wrong way to junk journal or create poetic art. Starter books and some junk journaling materials are provided but feel free to bring your own magazines, book pages, old books you won't mind altering or cutting up, scrapbook paper, stickers, envelopes, tags, blank cards, and any other ephemera you may have on hand, the older the better. Creative prompts will also be provided for anyone in need of inspiration.
Super glue, fabric glues, and other heavy-duty adhesives are used. Anyone with sensitivities to those fumes should ideally wear a mask. Bringing your own scissors and basic glue is also helpful but not required.
