“MEVO, Fresh Roots Farm, and Small Space Farming” with Violet Reed

Mahwah Museum Hosts “MEVO, Fresh Roots Farm, and Small Space Farming” with Violet Reed on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 7:30 pm

Mahwah, NJ – Join Violet Reed at the Mahwah Museum on Tuesday, October 27th at 7:30 p.m. for an exciting lecture covering the history of the Mahwah Environmental Volunteers Organization, also known as MEVO. She’ll also discuss other Mahwah programs such as regenerative farming, trash cleanups, trail building, and more!

About the speaker: Violet Reed is the Executive Director for MEVO. She has been actively involved with MEVO since 2017 when she was a summer Farm Crew Intern. Violet graduated from Seton Hall in December of 2018 with a major in English and a minor in Environmental Studies. Violet has studied and received certification in Permaculture Design, having studied in Punta Mona, Costa Rica.  Current studies include Herbalism and Mindful Wilderness.

A driving force of Violet’s work is her belief that everyone has the right to live in and enjoy a clean and healthy environment. She feels systemic change happens when people are involved in community-level efforts, like those at MEVO! Violet received a Russ Berrie “Making a Difference Award” in the top category of Transformational Leadership in 2026.
