About

Join us for a haunting chamber opera adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s classic tale of horror and suspense, The Tell-Tale Heart! This Co-Production with the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey will bring a modern, operatic take on Poe’s iconic short story to new audiences.

To kick things off, the audience will enjoy a prelude of select pieces, followed by the opera. Afterward, Composer and Maestro Robert Butts and the performers will participate in a Q&A session with the audience, concluding with a reception in the building’s historic Richards Room.

This event is the first opera in Dover in over 101 years, and it is also the first event in The Amp’s new Signature Series – designed to showcase performances that are interesting, approachable and excellent. If you've never been before, this 26-minute opera could be just the introduction you've been waiting for.
